Juan Carlos Perez - Paralegal
During his time at UIC, he served as a mentor for the CHANCE Program, whose focus is the retention of minority students in college. Additionally, Juan has also served as a volunteer of the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute for the past 6 years, a conference which caters to the issues surrounding the Latino community in Chicago, as well as the nation. Juan plans to one day earn a law degree with a focus on immigration law, with hopes to facilitate the struggles that many immigrants face in the United States today. Juan Carlos Perez was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and immigrated to Chicago at the age of 5. He went on to graduate from Lane Technical High School in 2001 and later enrolled at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) to pursue a degree in Political Science and Latin American Latino Studies.
